How come you’re so broke?

My mom asked me this question like 10 times in August and I didn’t know what to reply her…

…but deep down in my heart i felt like saying ‘CAUSE OF YOU MA, CAUSE OF YOU’

in a good way of course.

Ever since I started to work one of my dreams is to treat my parents to a place where they really want to go. Unfortunately I have not been the most thrifty person in the world so I was not able to fulfill this dream of mine until recently.

My mom kept mentioning how she really wanted to visit Japan for the Sakura season, Holland for the tulips (you can tell she really likes flowers here) and Turkey. It broke my heart every time I realise I couldn’t buy my parents a holiday as years passed on and I had enough of it, this year, 2017, I am going to do it.

So I saved up and booked my parents tickets to Japan for the Sakura season next year! Alhamdulillah! But I had to wait a month to tell my mom what I had done so I could surprise her for her birthday and that waiting period was torture.

Look, this post is not to brag how much money I have (not a lot I can tell you that) but I owe it to my younger 20 year old self that dreams do come true, whether it’s for yourself or making it happen for others. All it takes is some saving up, determination and to work hard! If only I had been more careful with my spending earlier on I would have been able to done this much sooner, but it’s okay, better late than never.

And to the first person to ever love me, Ma, I really cannot thank you for all the sacrifices that you have made for me. You gave me and Kat everything, even when you and dad had nothing. I hope we will able to spoil you rotten for the rest of your life and I hope you will have fun in Japan!
