Turning One

I’ve wanted to blog for the longest time, but every time I switch on my laptop, it’s either Rauf needs to be fed, or needs to be changed or I’d be so tired by the time the computer actually switches on, I’ll fall into a very deep – short but yet satisfying nap.

So it’s quite fitting and meant to be that I am able to blog now as it’s mine and Joe’s one year anniversary. Wow. That’s all I can say, wow. My dad gave me away 365 days ago on a beautiful Friday night, surrounded by magical lights, flying lanterns and beautiful souls. I bawl my eyes out every time I watch our wedding videos and I love watching it so much because by the end of it I realise what’s important- your family (your friends are family too).

People say time flies, but as for me, it didn’t feel too short, maybe because I was pregnant 70% of the time we’ve been married, but like all married couples, we had our ups and downs -but that is the thing about being married, when  your committed to that one amazing person for the rest of your life, life doesn’t get easier, your problems will keep coming and going but what has become better is yourself and your partner and how you handle things together.

That’s why I am so thankful that the person I get to do it with is Joe.

Syukur Alhamdulillah for everything
