The Shower

A few weeks ago, my sister decided to make her winter holiday in KL more productive by throwing me a surprise baby shower. Of course she couldn’t have done this without the help from Joe, my parents and my wonderful friends. Joe said that he was taking me for a weekend getaway, so I actually packed my clothes into a luggage and allowed him to blindfold me because he said that there were upcoming surprises throughout the journey.

…the journey was to my aunt’s house, filled with decorations and my friends waiting for me.

Liars, all liars.

BUT I LOVED IT!

Growing up I’ve always been fascinated with the Star Wars world so naturally this became the baby shower’s theme. The cake, the deco, the flowers and the doorgifts were perfect (Thanks Helium & Konfetti!). My girls wrote motivational messages on diapers which will be used for the baby and we even played a game guessing how big my tummy is (my own best friend thought I was 57 inches??!!).

Messages that I will be reading one day, presumably at 3am

My parents joined in the fun and as we all chilled in the living room I started to realise how fast and drastic our lives are changing. So many of them are getting married this year, some are making big career changes and some are starting new business ventures. I wonder how different we’re all going to be, 10 years down the road.

Whatever awaits us 5, 10, 15 years ahead, let’s just wait and see! All I knew at that moment was that I was blessed to have them by my side, celebrating this bundle of joy that is coming soon!

and Happy new year everyone! May the force be with you!
