One of the things I love most about the weekend is spending it with loved ones.
The past 2 weekends were the absolute bomb because I got to see most of my girls. El is back from London and she is back for good! Nina flew in from Langkawi because she had a marathon in KL so we took this opportunity to celebrate her birthday. Baked her a cake (she’s been nagging about my brownies for months so I made a brownie cake) and I had so much fun putting together a party pack for her birthday brunch. Rena, Nina and I go way back in Brighton when we did our Masters degree and being the only Malaysians in the class, naturally, we became best buds.

Atikah hosted an open house last Saturday and it was awesome. It was so awesome that we overstayed our welcome and stayed there for more than 5 hours. 5! Bagi lah chance okay it’s been a while since we all gathered and caught up with each other. Joe wasn’t around, he attended this whole day entrepreneurial conference so I flew solo that day. After stuffing our faces with delicious food, we indulged with durians for dessert. It occurred to me how much we’ve all grown up since our school days because we were talking about insurance, politics, domestic abuse, pokemon go, you know, serious kinda stuff.

Joe felt bad for not being around the entire day so he insisted in joining the rest at Fau’s place for board games later that night. We brought pizza and played Cranium which was pretty much a mixture of fact questions, words? pictionary and charades.

My sister is home for the summer break and she’s been volunteering for different projects ever since she’s been back. She’s always volunteering for different things, my parents and I are always placing bets where she would volunteer every year. Last year, she went to South Africa to teach underprivileged kids in school, last week, she was a volunteer at Rumah Hope, spending time with orphans and help the organization refurbish the home. This week, she went to Terengganu to save the Turtles.

Man, this kid is my hero. As much as I miss her when she’s not in the house, Kitty Kat just does whatever she feels is right. Best part about it is that no one tells her to do it, and I’m so proud of her.
