Saying goodbye is never easy
Luckily we only bid a temporary goodbye to one of our close friends, Eja. He left for China for work. Not an easy thing for someone young and inexperienced to do. But that’s Eja. He’s gutsy and he’s brave. Most importantly he’s doing this so he can provide the best for his Soraya.
You know the saying, when you date someone, you date their best friends too? Well I’ve been really lucky that Joe has amazing friends because ever since we went out I feel like we are our own family. And our family keeps getting bigger.

One of the things that made me really like Joe in the beginning was his love for his friends and vice versa. These boys have been there for each other ever since their college days. They have their mandatory boys night out every Thursday, they have a band and they see the world together – on bicycles. Their bond is unbreakable. Sometimes I get envious when I see them together because I wish I had all my girls around me as often as well. I see this in a positive light though, the more I miss my girls, the more I appreciate every moment I have with them when we’re together.
Anyway, back to Eja.
We had a farewell dinner for him and another friend, Payet – who is also leaving for China. We bowled, had dinner and celebrated his early birthday. It was lovely. Lovely, but somber. I can’t imagine myself being in Sor’s place, she’s brave too for being so understanding and wonderful about this change. Seeing her keeping her chin up made me realise that sacrifices are necessary. Attitude is key as well. Because change is the only constant thing in life.

You’ve conquered certain parts of the world and that was solely done with your bike Eja, I have no doubt that you will flourish in whatever you put your heart and soul into. We pray for your safety and happiness, we cannot wait to have you home soon.
Till then, take care our dear friend.
